Chief Keef

Chief Keef was born Keith Cozart in 1995. He was named after his uncle and his mother was 16 years old when she got the boy. His stage name has become popular and most people do not even know about his real name. He comes from Chicago, Illinois and is a well known rapper.   The Interscope Records signed a deal with him and helped him shoot to fame.  He runs a record label known as Glory Boys Entertainment; he is the CEO. Finally rich was his debut album released on December 2012. Having been born in Chicago, he was brought up in Eaglewood and went to school on the South side of the city.

Chief Keef’s music career began while he was in prison being in possession of weapons. He posted some of his music videos in his YouTube account. He received huge response and he later released other mix tapes they included “I don’t like, “Bang” and “3 Hunna”.  They became local hits and also attracted attention of big rappers like Kanye West. He did a remix of “I don’t like” with Big Sean, Pusha T and Jadakiss.

During the summer season in 2012, Chief Keef was busy looking for a number of big labels to sign him. They included Young Jeezy’s label CTE World. But as luck would have it, he was signed up by Interscope records. They gave him his own label that enables him to run Glory Boyz Entertainment.  He can pull out of the deal which is worth quite a lot; six million dollars but he must sell more two hundred and fifty copies of his album by the end of 2013.he released a debut studio album called “Finally Rich” in December 2012. They were great guests during the event and they included Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, Rick Ross, fellow member of Glory Boyz Lil Reese and Young Jeezy.

Chief Keef has been on the wrong side of the law several times. On January 2011, he was arrested for distributing heroin. He had to serve a house arrest but before the year ended, on December he carried a gun covered in his coat. He had left his grandmothers house and when a policeman stopped him, he pointed the gun at him and then fled.  He was only 16 years old then, and the policemen ran after him. He was arrested and charged of assault with a weapon and also for resisting arrest.  He was taken Juvenile Detention Centre and later given a home sentence. He was ordered to remain in his grandmother’s house.

In 2012 Chief Keef was being investigated for connection in the death of a rapper who was shot dead. This happened after Keef mocked the rappers death on Twitter. He said the account was hacked and that he was not connected to the murder in any way. The mother of the rapper said openly that Keef paid thugs to kill her son.
